#HockeyStories – Trevor Hendrikx and the birth of the Cardiff Canucks

There’s something different happening in Cardiff Bay. After a hockey career across two continents, Trevor Hendrikx retired and started running hockey schools. Now settled in South Wales, he wanted to change the way young players made the jump from junior to senior hockey.

The Cardiff Canucks plan to take flight for 2024/25 in NIHL South 2 and promises to be something different. A team in the senior British leagues allowing young players daily ice time and educational opportunities, modelled off of models seen across North America. Trevor sits down with Anthony to chat about what the Canucks will do, what they won’t, being drafted twice and how he thinks the club will improve things for young players.
